After COVID-19 pandemic gap of two years, UP NCC Headquarters Prayagraj, has organised ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ (EBSB) Camp-1, an All India-level Camp, at Shambhunath Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jhalwa Prayagraj to commemorate the elixir of Independence. The Camp which started on August 24 will be culminating on September 4.
Tuesday, on August 30, 2022, programs for the seventh day of this 12-day camp were organized. It is to mention that a total of 598 NCC cadets from NCC Directorate Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Andaman & Nicobar, NCC Group Varanasi, Lucknow, Gorakhpur and Prayagraj are participating in the camp.

Singing and folk dance were organized by various NCC groups in today’s colorful programs during the camp. NCC cadets from NCC Directorate of Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Andaman & Nicobar in singing group presented glimpses of various folk songs and dances of South India like Kathakali, Bharatanatyam, Devaratnam and Kamandi.
Taking forward the sequence of dance and singing, many dance and singing and folk songs like Rasleela, Kajri, Jahora and Kathak were presented by the NCC groups Varanasi, Lucknow, Gorakhpur and Prayagraj under the NCC Directorate, Uttar Pradesh. During the program, the cadets from different states got an opportunity to display their culture and traditions and get to know the culture and traditions of other states. Thus the cultural diversity of India is glorified with the perceptions of underlying unity. This is the main objective of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Camp.

Today on Tuesday, the chief guest in the camp was Dr Rama Shankar Verma, who is currently the director of Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology and the acting director of Indian Institute of Information and Technology Jhalwa, Prayagraj.
After singing and dancing presentations, Dr Rama Shankar Verma gave a motivational speech to the NCC cadets and showed the way to move forward. Professor Verma said that India is a united country despite the diversity of languages and climate in India. While addressing the cadets, Professor Verma also told about the advantages and importance of having unity in diversity.
In the end, Group Commander Brigadier KP Krishna Kumar honored the chief guest by giving him a memento. Further, the team and cadets who were toppers in the sports competition, solo dance, group dance were honored with medals and trophies. In which the cadet of Shambhunath Institute of Engineering and Technology secured first position in Solo Song.
Various sports competitions like Football, Basketball and Kho-Kho etc. were organized in the afternoon of the seventh day.
During the program Camp Commandant, Brigadier KP Krishna Kumar (NCC Group Commander Prayagraj), Commanding Officer of 1 UP CTR NCC, MNNIT LT Col AN Ghosh (Camp Adjutant) and LT (Dr) Divya Kumar, Associate NCC Officer at 1 UP CTR NCC, MNNIT were present.
