Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed the officials to take all preventive measures and create awareness among the people about the Coronavirus which has struck the neighbouring state.
During a review meeting here on Tuesday as part of the Spandana, the Chief Minister said that the State should get into an alert mode and take precautions against any eventuality vis-à-vis the coronavirus with the formation of rapid response teams but at the same time there is no need to create a fear psychosis among the people.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to ensure isolation wards in the district hospitals are put in place and to train the doctors on how to handle Coronavirus with an action plan prepared by experts in the field. Awareness must be created among people on the precautions that need to be taken to check the virus and wide publicity should be given. The precautionary measures should be displayed at all village secretariats, he said. Masks should be kept ready for which orders have to be placed immediately.
Medical and health department secretary Jawahar Reddy explained about Coronavirus to the district collectors and said that it has spread to 64 countries so far.
