Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy held a video conference with 13 District Collectors along with Doctors working in COVID-19 hospitals and has appreciated the doctors, paramedical staff, and sanitation workers for their relentless service.

Speaking to the officials over video conference on Friday, Chief Minister said that the doctors, paramedical staff, and sanitation workers are working hard round the clock during these tough times.
“I salute to the doctors and medical staff,” he said adding that it was because of them that the state is in the forefront of fighting COVID0-19.
Unlike other states and cities like Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Chennai, AP has no such great hospitals with all amenities but has committed expert doctors and medical staff.
Only 5% of the COVID-19 patients are in critical care, 14 % are admitted in hospitals, and 81% are in home isolation. The best medical services are provided with 4 critical care hospitals in 13 districts across the state, and isolation wards with 2,000 beds in every district.
Despite the known fact of risk in treating the COVID-19 patients, the medical and sanitation staff are working with dedication showing their courage during difficult times risking their life.
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy conveyed thanks for their hard work and contribution towards the society. The cases in the state have been increased due to Markhaj returnees but however, all the returnees, with primary and secondary contacts were traced and kept in isolation. Chief Minister said that the situation is currently under control and normal conditions would prevail in a few days.
Meanwhile, in another review meeting with Agriculture Department officials, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy discussed on the unseasonal rains that caused severe damage to the crops in various places across the state. Chief Minister has ordered the officials to collect the details of the damaged crops to rescue the farmers. He also passed the orders to compensate those farmers with immediate effect.
He asked the officials to pay the ex-gratia amount to those who have died in the Boat accident and lightning.
Nadu-Nedu in hospitals strengthens public health care system
The Chief Minister asserted that the public health care system should be strengthened under the Nadu-Nedu program in hospitals so that the state will be able to tackle pandemic diseases like COVID-19 or any other such diseases in the future .
In a review meeting held here on the COVID-19 situation and Nadu-Nedu program, Chief Minister emphasized that with the implementation of the Nadu-Nedu program in hospitals, every clinic from the village level to district level area hospitals and government general and super speciality hospitals will be equipped with necessary infrastructure facilities.
To be successful in implementing Nadu-Nedu in hospitals, he ordered the officials to ensure that village and ward clinics should be functional by 2021 with all the necessary infra structure facilities.
The idea of Nadu-Nedu in hospitals is that the state should be capable of handling the tough situations like pandemic COVID-19 and any other such disasters in future, he added.
With a proper health analysis from ground level, a comprehensive health care system would be created. To make the state self sufficient in having medical colleges, Chief Minister instructed the officials to intensify the work on establishing 16 new medical colleges in the state.
While the door to door survey and rapid testing is on a fast track in the state, the Chief Minister ordered the officials to pass instructions to Asha workers, ANMs, volunteers, and medical staff to enter the medical details of the people in the health cards as well so that the health department will have the medical records of the state people.
The officials briefed on the steps being taken in fighting against COVID-19 and the condition of red zone and hotspot areas in the state. They have discussed on the strategies to be followed in case of lifting lockdown.
Chief Secretary Nilam Sawhney, DGP Gautam Sawang, Special Chief Secretary Jawahar Reddy other officials were present.
