Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy convened a high level review meeting through video conference and instructed the concerned officials to take adequate measures in Medicare, tracking patients and their contacts besides ensuring MSP to farmers.
In the review meeting with Ministers, Chief Secretary, district collectors, Municipal Commissioners, RTOs, SPs, and other officials, he gave directions to intensify the measures in urban areas and gear up to meet any eventuality across the state giving more focus on home isolation.
As the virus outbreak in urban areas is more due to the higher density of population and more number of foreign returnees, the Chief Minister asked the officials to intensify the measures being taken in urban areas.
He also sought details of the steps being taken from the village-level in the prevention of coronavirus outbreak and said adequate number of beds should be set up in every district for isolation.
The Chief Minister has instructed municipal commissioners to be proactive in the preventive mission. The primary team comprising volunteers, resource persons from SHGs, health secretary from ward secretariat, ANMs, and Asha workers will survey every home daily at village-level in prevention of coronavirus and submit the reports. The second team involves a doctor for every ward to monitor the situation.
Migrant labour and workers who are stranded at various places across the state and border will be provided with good accommodation and quality food.The officer in charge will monitor the situation at the camps.
So far, 16723 beds are available at isolation centers and 5000 more could be added.
He asked the officials to sanitize and make use of the function halls and hotels if necessary.
The district Collectors apprised the Chief Minister of the preparedness of facilities and number of beds in various hospitals to meet any exigency.
The existing 6,762 non-ICU beds are increased to 8,050 beds, 336 ICU beds to 515, and 148 ventilator beds.
The Chief Minister has instructed the officials to ensure clean and sanitized surroundings in urban and rural areas. Monitoring on positive cases reported areas should also be intensified.
Minister Kanna Babu, Botsa Satyanarayan, Chief Secretary S Nilam Sawhney, DGP Gautam Sawang were also among those present in the review meeting. The officials also submitted the status report to the Chief Minister.
Farmers will get MSP
Farmers will get Minimum Support Price (MSP) for all their crops and there would no interrupting to agricultural operations, Agriculture Minister Kurasala Kannababu said.
Briefing the discussions held in the review meeting chaired by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy here today the Minister said that the government is firm on protecting agriculture and aqua products and is taking measures to provide MSP to their produce.
As the Rabi crop in coming up, strict action will be taken against millers who purchase the products at a lower price than the government fixed price, he said.
As per the Chief Minister’s orders, the Minister said 4 to 5 distribution centers will be established near every rice depot. Secure measures will be taken at cold storage units and will strictly implement social distancing, he said.
The Chief Minister has instructed the officials to ensure clean and sanitized surroundings in urban and rural areas particularly at Rythu Bazaars besides maintaining social distance. Moreover, there will be no hurdles in transporting the agri products and perishing goods will be purchased at the market bt the State, he said.
