Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy asserted that the new industrial policy should be practical and invites faith on the government here on Wednesday.
Addressing a review meeting, the Chief Minister said that the industrial policies of the government should be congenial and industry-friendly and bring fresh investments to the states, he said.
In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, the industries sector across the world is affected and the officials discussed the effect of COVID-19 on industries in the state.
Chief Minister said central government would soon be announcing a policy on COVID-19 and he asked the officials to emulate it.
Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed the officials to clear pending incentives of the past five years; Rs 4,800 crore to industries on installment basis and to prioritize the industries based on the employment scale. The government will be providing land, water, and electricity and quality services should be provided to the industries on behalf of the government to boost the investments in the state.
He said that an assessment should be prepared on those who depend on Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and the government should support the MSMEs and prioritize MSMEs that have large scope of employment.
He recalled the previous TDP government’s negligence towards the industries and said that the incentives pending dues for last past five years is Rs 4,800 crore. Unlike the previous government, he ordered the officials to keep words in action so that industries would have faith in the government.
Chief Minister is keen on ensuring zero pollution from industries and instructed the officials that the government should take responsibility to collect the waste from industries and process it. Moreover, he said that the use of desalination water in industries would protect the environment and asked the officials to speed up works in this regard .
