Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy held a meeting with BC Ministers and representatives here at Tadepalli on Saturday and has taken crucial decisions to enhance the life standards of BCs and nomadic communities in the state.
The discussions were also held on a report that was submitted before elections by a research Committee for Backward Class (BC) headed by Janga Krishnamurthy.
In a meeting held here, it was decided to work for the uplift of neglected and abandoned nomadic communities in the state. In order to promote the life standards of these communities, the government in the meeting has decided for the establishment of corporations under three categories: first category for BCs with population ranging from 10,000 to one lakh, second category with population between one lakh and 10 lakh, third category with population 10 lakh and above.
The government has also decided to provide government services such as housing, pensions, ration cards and financial assistance for caste-based occupations for the support of nomadic and unrecognised communities with a population below 10,000.
The Chief Minister had ordered to conduct another meeting for the uplift of these people. He said the Ministers, MLAs, Parliament members, BC community leaders, and he would also participate in the meeting. He directed the officials to take suggestions from them in the upcoming meeting.
Ministers Botsa Satyanarayana, Mopidevi Venkataramana, Anil Kumar Yadav, Dharmana Krishnadas, Sankaranarayana, and BC community corporation representatives were among those present at the meeting.
