Atmanirbhar Bharat: Oasis Autonic launches Forst electric bicycle priced at Rs 43,000

Oasis Autonic all set to launch Forst, an electric bicycle in the Smart City of Ahmedabad on Sunday. It is priced at Rs 43,000, excluding taxes but includes all basic accessories.

Designed and manufactured by mechanical engineer-turned-entrepreneur Dhiral Mistry in Ahmedabad, the Forst is meant for everyday commuters and businesses. It will be available across Oasis Autonic website, dealers and will soon be launched on e-commerce platforms like Amazon.

The E-bike or cycle will be launched at the well-known gaming centre — Shott on Sindhubhavan Road in Thaltej area of Ahmedabad on Sunday at 5:30 pm.
Powered by a 36V, Hub rear-drive motor, which is viable with the disc brake, has an evaluated force of 250W, the greatest force of 32 N.m, giving the ideal capacity to vehicles. Forst sports an in-frame 36V, 12.5Ah Li-particle Battery for E-bicycle with Charging Protection lithium-ion battery which gives it 750 cycle battery life and a full charge in 2 hours.

The cost of running the cycle for 70 km is Rs 3 which is a blessing in disguise as petrol-driven vehicles cost Rs 150 or more and pollution-free. The maximum speed of the vehicle is 25 km per hour.

The motor and battery offer 24 months warranty.
Dhiral Mistry, Founder-Director, Oasis Autonic, said, “Forst is the first EV to be born in our new factory in Odhav, Ahmedabad,  which makes it even more special for us. The EV is a major step towards achieving our goal of boosting EV adoption in the country and electrifying the future of mobility. We have spent Rs 18 lakh so far in research, development, and production.”

Speaking with navjeevanexpress.com, Mistry said, “We have obtained a patent for this product. To promote EVs, the government offers a subsidy of Rs 10,000 to students. We have initiated the process for getting subsidy and hope it will materialize by April. Further, we are seeking funding from venture capitalists to go for mass production over a period which will bring down the vehicle cost and make it affordable to all.”

On production capacity, he said, at present, we can produce 100 to 150 units per month which can be scaled up to 500 depends upon the demand. We will set up five charging stations in Ahmedabad by March.
