The Southern Railway has conducted various events to mark the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations, including the launch of a new website of its Headquarters Hospital at Perambur, here on Saturday.
BG Mallya, General Manager, Southern Railway inaugurated a walkathon by the doctors and staff of the hospital as part of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ programme and urged the railway employees to hoist the National Flag at their homes.
Speaking at the event, Mallya recalled the contributions made by martyrs of freedom and congratulated the medical team of Southern Railway for their remarkable contribution during COVID pandemic. Later, the GM hoisted the National Flag at the new Hospital block.

The General Manager also launched the official website of Southern Railway Headquarters Hospital, Perambur. The website can be accessed by the employees of Southern Railway through the railnet intranet page link: https:10.185.71.55/sr-rhper
The website of the hospital will disseminate information regarding the activities of the hospital, services available, etc.
The General Manager also visited the hospital auditorium and encouraged the children participating in the drawing competition at the venue. Over 100 children unleashed their creative streak on the theme ‘Patriotism’ held as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations. Besides, a Hindi library for hospital staff was also inaugurated by the GM.
Southern Railway is organizing a host of events that include exhibitions, walkathons, bike rally, cultural events, illumination of railway stations/offices and Selfie points in commemoration of 75 years of Indian Independence.
