Students enthusiastically took part in the online elocution, essay writing and poster making contests conducted by Sainik School Balachadi, Jamnagar to mark the 7th International Day of Yoga celebrations on Monday, says a school release.
Speaking on the occasion, Gp Capt Ravinder Singh, Principal, Sainik School Balachadi highlighted the importance of Yoga in day-to-day life of human beings. He d said, “Yoga teaches us how we can connect with nature, mind and soul.”
He told everyone to take resolution on this Yoga Day that we should connect with real things in life and not with virtual / materialistic things.
Cadets participated in Yoga session from their home town through online mode while Officers, Staff and their families performed Yoga in school by maintaining proper social distancing.
On this occasion, various activities were conducted. Online ‘Inter House Hindi and English Speech Competition’ was organized on the topic – ‘History and benefit of Yoga’. The competition was well organized by Cadet Neel Patel and Cadet Anurag Pandey under the guidance of Anju Yadav, TGT English. An online ‘Essay Writing Competition’ on the topic ‘Relevance of Yoga amid Covid second wave and gearing up for tackling the third wave’ was organized for class XI and XII which was coordinated by Sunita Kademani, HOD, English department. ‘Poster making competition on Yoga Day was conducted for class VII in online mode by the Art Department under the guidance of RS Mishra, Art Master.
The School Principal congratulated all the participants. The event culminated with the pledge taken by everyone to include Yoga in their day-to-day life.
