Bringing with him more than three decades of distinguished military service and operational expertise, Maj Gen G Srinivas has assumed command as the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Telangana & Andhra Sub Area (TASA), one of the Indian Army’s key administrative formations in southern India.

- Veteran Artillery officer played a crucial logistics role during Operation SINDOOR and brings 35 years of operational, instructional and international military experience.
- As Local Military Authority, he will oversee military administration, infrastructure, veterans’ welfare and civil-military synergy across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
An alumnus of the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, and the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun, Maj Gen Srinivas began his military journey at Sainik School, Korukonda, before being commissioned into the Regiment of Artillery in 1990.
A graduate of the National Defence College, the General Officer holds M.Phil. degrees in Defence and Security Studies and Management Studies, reflecting his blend of operational expertise and strategic leadership.
During an illustrious 35-year career, he has served in a wide range of command, staff and instructional appointments. His assignments include service with the United Nations Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo, postings in the Military Secretary Branch, command of an Artillery Brigade in a Strike Formation, appointment as Brigadier Quartermaster of a Corps, and Chief Instructor at the School of Artillery.
As Major General, Operational Logistics on the western front, Maj Gen Srinivas played a pivotal role in sustaining combat preparedness and ensuring operational logistics during Operation SINDOOR, underscoring his expertise in supporting high-tempo military operations.
Before assuming his new appointment, he served as the Commandant of the College of Defence Management, Secunderabad, where he supervised the prestigious Higher Defence Management Course, mentoring senior military officers in strategic leadership and defence management.
As the General Officer Commanding, Telangana & Andhra Sub Area, Maj Gen Srinivas will serve as the Local Military Authority for both States, overseeing military administration, infrastructure development, veterans’ welfare and strengthening coordination between the armed forces and civil authorities.
His appointment comes as the Indian Army continues to enhance operational preparedness while placing greater emphasis on veterans’ welfare, infrastructure modernisation and stronger civil-military partnerships across the country.
