6 days of Puja celebrations is a time of immense joy, cultural pride, and devotion for Bengalis
Durga Puja Celebrations is not only limited to the state of West Bengal but is celebrated by Bengali communities in other parts of India and around the world with the same devotion, passion and enthusiasm. These 6 days of Puja celebrations is a time of immense joy, cultural pride, and devotion for Bengalis, and it brings people of all backgrounds together to celebrate this significant festival. The specific customs and traditions may vary from region to region and from one community to another, but the essence of Durga Puja remains the same—reverence for the divine mother and the triumph of good over evil.
It is with this Objective & Zeal, Bengal Cultural Association which was established in the Year 1938, as a non-profit, socio-cultural organization dedicated to celebrating and preserving Bengali culture in Ahmedabad.
For over 85 Years, BCA has grown in strength through the decades, earning a pre-eminent position in Ahmedabad and amongst the entire Gujarati diaspora. Today, more than 1,500 Bengali member families from all walks of life, living, studying, working and contributing to nation-building in and across Gujarat – Ahmedabad are part of the BCA family and they actively participate in our activities and celebrations. Aside from organizing cultural celebrations such as Durga Puja, Kali Puja, BCA actively participates in broader community outreach events for members to mingle and interact with the wider Bengali section.
This Kalibari Community Centre would become a perfect address to hold prayer meets, celebrate Marriage and Birthday functions in Bengali cultural style, would have halls where our children would practice bengali songs, dances, drama, theatre and it would house a library where we would preserve books of Bengali literature and language. The 4-Storeyed building which is nearing its completion would also have Guest rooms and separate facilities for our priests who offer services at the Kalibari. Work is near completion and BCA still invites sponsors to come forward and help making it as a world class facility for preservation of Bengali Culture.
