In a significant step toward strengthening adolescent health awareness, the Rotary Club of Bhavnagar Vibrant conducted an informative session on Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD) at Muktalaxmi Mahila Vidyalaya on Friday, November 21. Nearly 200 Class 10 girls attended the session, engaging enthusiastically with the subject and asking thoughtful questions.

Renowned gynecologist Dr. Nidhi Patel from Bajarangdasbapa Arogyadham led the session, breaking down the causes, early symptoms, hormonal aspects, and lifestyle-related preventive measures of PCOD in a relatable and easy-to-understand manner.
“PCOD is increasingly affecting young girls due to stress, poor sleep, and unhealthy food habits. Early awareness helps prevent complications later in life,” Dr. Patel emphasized.
She added, “Simple changes like balanced diet, regular exercise, and timely medical consultation can make a huge difference.”
Rotary Club Secretary Sunita Shah highlighted the importance of health education for adolescent girls: “Creating awareness at the right age empowers girls to take charge of their wellbeing. Rotary is committed to supporting such impactful initiatives.”
Club Member Krishna Shah, who helped coordinate the event, said: “The students were curious and receptive. Sessions like these help break myths and encourage open discussions about women’s health.”
The school authorities appreciated the effort, noting that the program successfully addressed an essential health concern and equipped students with knowledge that will benefit them for years to come.
