Aiming to enhance the facilities provided to its students and members, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Ahmedabad Branch, has planned to construct a state-of-the-art new building opposite to new Gujarat High Court on SG Highway, the newly-elected chairperson said on Wednesday.

“While over 5,000 sqmts of land has been purchased at a cost of Rs 30 crore, the proposed new building requires nearly Rs 20 crore. We have initiated measures to raise the required fund and the new building is expected to be ready in one or two years. The building would have a CA Museum, auditorium, a parking area, cafeteria and a students’ sections with latest IT infrastructure etc,” said Bishan Shah, chairperson of ICAI, Ahmedabad.
Meanwhile, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Ahmedabad Branch said Bishan Shah has been elected as its President for the 2022-23 term.
Dr Anjali Nirav Chokshi has been elected as Vice President of the institute, which has more than 1,500 members. Neerav Atulkumar Agarwal and Samirkumra S Chaudhary have been elected as secretary and treasurer, respectively.
They took charge on Tuesday.
From this year, the number of Managing Committee has been increased to nine from earlier seven and it will have five ex officio members.
Chetan Jagatiya, Abhinav Malaviya, Rinkesh Shah, Sunil Sanghvi and Sunil Shah were the five new MC members.
The ex office members are Aniket Talati, who has a master’s degree in commerce, served as Chairman of Ahmedabad Branch of ICAI for the year 2014-15 and as Secretary, WIRC for the year 2017-18. As VP of ICAI national body, he would help the Ahmedabad Branch to do better in the years to come.
The other members are Purushottam Khandelwal,CCM, ICAI; Chintan Patel, RCM, WIRC, Hitesh Pomal, RCM, WIRC and Vikash Jain, RCM, WIRC.
This managing committee will have a tenure of 3 years 2022-2025.
The new team will help the young members who are practising in small offices and are sharing small and shared offices to achieve their goals and dreams; to provide opportunities to women members who want platform to prove themselves and would seek the help of the senior members to support young members, Bishan Shah added
