NEW DELHI, AHMEDABAD, CHANDIGARH, MAY 13

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday launched an 11-day Tiranga Yatra, to pay tribute to the Indian armed forces and highlight the success of Operation Sindoor, a recent military action against terror camps and military sites in Pakistan following the Pahalgam attack.

Scheduled to run until 23 May, the yatra aims to ignite a wave of patriotism and national unity across the country. Events will include bike rallies, public gatherings, flag-hoisting ceremonies, and outreach activities in towns and cities nationwide.

Senior BJP leaders, including Union Ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and party president J.P. Nadda, have played key roles in planning and executing the yatra. The campaign’s tone is intentionally non-partisan, focusing on unity and respect for the Tricolour rather than political point-scoring.

The yatra is being coordinated at the national level by party president J.P. Nadda, with support from key leaders like Sambit Patra, Vinod Tawde, and Tarun Chugh. Union Ministers, Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states, and senior party functionaries are leading events in their respective regions, ensuring widespread participation and visibility.

As part of the Yatra, BJP leaders and workers will conduct rallies across India, proudly carrying the national flag. They will be joined by local citizens, including prominent community figures, to inform the wider public about how India’s successful strikes on terrorist sites in Pakistan and PoK resulted in massive damage to the enemy.

A senior BJP source strongly refuted claims that the Tiranga Yatra was politically motivated, stating, “The Yatra will not be overtly political and is not intended to garner any political gains. The success of Operation Sindoor is a matter of national pride, and we want to share it with everyone in society, fully charged with patriotic zeal,” said a senior BJP leader.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, joined by her Cabinet colleagues, led a ‘Shaurya Samman Yatra’ down the Kartavya Path in the national capital to laud the armed forces for the success of Operation Sindoor.

Besides the BJP workers, the ‘yatra’ was attended by the schoolchildren, who turned up in uniforms, the NCC cadets and civil defence volunteers. The procession witnessed the rallyists calling for Pakistan’s “purna sanhaar” or extirpation and played patriotic songs.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini led a ‘tiranga yatra’ in Panchkula which saw participation of thousands of people, including women and children.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu led a ‘tiranga yatra’ in Walong, a remote town in Anjaw district, to mark the success of the Indian armed forces in Operation Sindoor.
BJP leader C N Ashwath Narayan proclaimed the commencement of a Tiranga Yatra in Bengaluru on May 15, following the successful execution of ‘Operation Sindoor’. He invited citizens to join this significant event to express their gratitude towards the armed forces.

Operation Sindoor gave message that India won’t tolerate terrorism: Gujarat CM

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Tuesday said that through Operation Sindoor, India has given a message that it will not compromise on its zero tolerance policy against terrorism.

Speaking during the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ foot march taken out to celebrate the success of Operation Sindoor, he also said that this military operation has awakened the spirit of nationalism.

The CM took part in the foot march that started from Vadaj area in the city and ended at Subhash Chandra Bose statue at the RTO circle, covering a distance of nearly 1.5 kilometres.

In his address at Vadaj, Patel congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian armed forces for the success of Operation Sindoor, a government release said.

The yatra was organised by the BJP-ruled Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and various non-government organisations, it said.

“Operation Sindoor was the reflection of the sentiments of crores of Indians. The Indian Army has given a befitting reply to terrorists through Operation Sindoor. This is a resounding success in India’s fight against terrorism,” CM Patel said.

“Under the leadership of PM Modi, India has conveyed to the world that we will not compromise on our policy of having zero tolerance against terrorism,” he added.

The event was attended by Minister of State for MSMEs Jagdish Vishwakarma, Ahmedabad Mayor Pratibha Jain, Members of Parliament, local MLAs, Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner Banchhanidhi Pani and others.
