AHMEDABAD, MAY 7
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said there are more than 8,500 startups in Gujarat and the state government has extended financial support of Rs 51.83 crore to over 300 startups so far.

He said this while addressing young entrepreneurs at the ongoing Symposium 2022, organised by Business Network International (BNI) Ahmedabad, on Saturday. The CM reiterated the state government’s commitment to supporting trade and industry and startups.
“Gujarat has emerged as the preferred investment destination for national and international companies following the success of the Vibrant Gujarat Summits that were organised under the vision and leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Investors from across the world are keen to come to Gujarat due to a conducive business environment, stable regulatory environment, and investment-friendly policies aimed at promoting startups, innovation, and SMEs,” the chief minister said addressing a large gathering of BNI members, noting that the state had attracted the highest Foreign Direct Investment in the country in the past three years.
The Symposium is the flagship event of BNI Ahmedabad and is being held physically after a gap of two years. Taking place from May 6 to 8, Symposium 2022 will see a host of activities aimed at promoting business, networking, creativity, innovation, and more.
The chief minister noted that there are more than 8,500 startups in Gujarat. He said the government of Gujarat has extended financial support of Rs 51.83 crore to over 300 startups since 2015 under the Startup and Innovation Scheme. He reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting startups across sectors and expressed confidence that BNI Ahmedabad would support startups and play a key role in creating employment opportunities.
Also present at the occasion were Yash Vasant and Nitish Agrawal, Executive Directors of BNI Ahmedabad.
The Sicilian Conclave, organised on the second day of Symposium 2022 saw around 5,000 snap one-to-one meetings between BNI members.
Actor Kabir Bedi also addressed a separate speaker session at Symposium.
The final day of Symposium 2022 will witness the Sicilian Gala, which is often called the Oscars of BNI Ahmedabad. A 2,000+ audience, comprising BNI Ahmedabad members, spouses, and kids, will enjoy the awards show, where over 100 awards will be given to leaders, outstanding members and incredible chapters for leadership and key achievements over the past year.
