A 90’s kid, Nesam (Yogi Babu) marries Amy, a Russian woman, but wants a divorce her now. She puts one condition. He has to stay for one day in his ancestral royal palace in the hills. Yogibabu’s wife tries to steal the superman formula that Yogibabu’s father discovered years ago. The rest of the story is about the challenges and dangers faced by Yogi Babu who steps in to save the formula from her.

Yogi Babu, who owns a grand palace, makes a bit of a splash in the usual style.
Four friends – KPY Bala, Seshu, Robo Shankar, Thangadurai – enter the palace and killa Nesam because he is the reason they are still remain unmarried.

But they all fall for a pretty friend Harini who accompanies Nesam and his wife to the palace. They take turns to win her over somehow. But when she calls him ‘uncle’ he is shattered and vows revenge.
Meanwhile, Amy is busy with a sinister plan, exploring the forbidden upper portions of the palace which have a secret. All the other actors except Yogi Babu aim to make the fans laugh rather than the work they are given in the story and they are half successful in that.
Amidst all this, actor Oviya lands up in the palace asking for shelter for one night. Nesam falls for her. But the boomer uncle finds out that she is in fact a ghost but Nesam doesn’t believe her.
Sexy Siren Oviya lands in to perform seductive dancing as there is room for glamor dance in such films. She has also contributed her mite without guile so as not to deceive the youth.
Meanwhile, strange things are happening. Amy has a secret Hologram fotmula (which was Oviya). Yogi’s wife, a Russian Spy, is after a secret superhumsn formula called Project 9.0 invented by Nesam’s father. She will go to any lengths to get what she wants. She uses Nattammai ( Robo Shankar) in her plans making him a super hero Hulk to get her way.
There is a scene in the film where Shaktimaan grows old and appears as Uncle Boomer. An excellent performance emerges from MS Bhaskar who plays the role.
What happens to Nesam and his friends turned enemies, in the face of grave danger?
Children will enjoy the cheerful performance of the boys and girls in the song ‘Jinga Bunga’. Spiderman, Thor, Batman and Joker characters are also included in the mix.
But the film is not really for kids is the double meaning dialogues and men lusting after girls in shorts and skimpy clothes.
Cinematographer Subashthandapani has recorded colorful scenes so that we do not get the impression that we are moving around in the same place.
Music composers Shanthan – Dharma Prakash have given songs for this story.
B Anand’s work is exquisite in art direction.
The technical dilemmas involved in the Superman formula could have been made a little more interesting.
The comedy is insipid despite the presence of so many comedians due to poor writing.
‘Boomer Uncle’ is a comedy for those interested in farcical human, double entendre jokes and the like.
