Gujarat State Football Association (GSFA) felicitated newly-elected president of All India Football Federation (AIFF) Kalyan Chaubey in Ahmedabad Thursday. On this occasion along with honorary treasurer of AIFF Kipa Ajay and President of GSFA Parimal Nathwani, office-bearers of GSFA and president of district football associations affiliated with GSFA remained present. Incidentally, Kalyan Chaubey’s nomination as AIFF President was proposed by GSFA.
While addressing the gathering, Kalyan Chaubey expressed his gratitude towards Parimal Nathwani and GSFA for nominating him from Gujarat in the presidential election of AIFF.
“For the first time in 85 years of the history of AIFF, a person who has played football has been elected as the president. This has become possible only as Shri Parimal Nathwani gave me a chance to serve Indian Football by nominating me from Gujarat,” said Chaubey.
He also reiterated his commitment for growth of football in India and take Indian football to next level. “We have charted out a roadmap for growth of football in India. We will reach out to students in around 18,000 schools with football grounds and create a pool of around 18 lakh students, who will acquire basic skills of football. Out of these students, we will get good players after five-ten years, who can represent India at international level,” he said. He said that till now India used to participate in the games, but now onwards India will participate to win.
Kalyan Chaubey also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Minister of Home Affairs Amit Shah are also committed for development of Football in India, and they want India to progress in the game as it has achieved accolades in science, technology, and other fields.
Mulrajsinh Chudasma, General Secretary of GSFA, has been appointed as the chairman of the committee at AIFF for talent scouting and development of football at grassroot level. In addition, GSFA vice president Jignesh Paatil has been made Chairman of Beach Soccer Committee of AIFF and GSFA treasurer Mayank Buch has been appointed member in AIFF finance committee.
On this occasion, Vice President of GSFA Hanif Ginwala, Vice President of GSFA Jignesh Patil, former president of GSFA Hardevsinh Jadeja, General Secretary of Kerala State Football Association Anil Prabhakaran, President of Haryana Football Association Suraj Pal ‘Amu’ and other dignitaries remained present.
Kalyan Chaubey and Kipa were felicitated by different district football associations affiliated with GSFA. General Secretary of GSFA Mulrajsinh Chudasma conducted the event, while treasurer of GSFA Mayank Buch presented vote of thanks.
