Government e Marketplace (GeM) is set to participate in the upcoming 9th edition of India Industrial Fair, being held at the NISC Ground in Rajkot from 2nd to 5th February, 2025-Sunday to Wednesday. The platform will be marking its participation to facilitate greater interaction with the local MSEs and spur their participation in the public procurement domain through GeM.
By enhancing access to business-to-government (B2G) market for small-scale sellers of Rajkot, the platform is envisioned to boost hyper-local job creation and wealth generation, further reinforcing the flagship initiatives of Government of India including #VocalforLocal and Make In India (MII).
“Through smart marketplace filters, purchase preferences and exclusive benefits, GeM is creating new opportunities for MSEs in public procurement. The digital infrastructure of the platform allows such sellers to sell to lakhs of government buyers without any intermediaries, thereby propelling their business prospects beyond the boundaries of their State,” said Ajit B Chavan, Additional CEO & Chief Seller Officer, GeM, who will also be delivering a special keynote address during the India Industrial Fair.
Being organised by Laghu Udyog Bharti, a registered all-India organisation of Micro & Small Industries in India since 1994, the India Industrial Fair is a national-level exhibition to showcase new business capabilities and trends, while providing a ground for networking and knowledge sharing with renowned leaders in B2B, B2C and B2G domain.
Rajkot is a major engineering hub for firms specialising in casting, forging, general and allied engineering, among other industries. The event will be attended by local MSEs, local MSME seller organizations, and government buyers, including Indian Railways and Ministry of Defence. Through comprehensive onboarding of local seller base and instant handholding, GeM’s participation at India Industrial Fair is bound to encourage wider adoption of the portal, bolstering Government of India’s vision of an “Atmanirbhar Viksit Bharat @ 2047”.
