As part of commemorative events to mark the 50th anniversary of victory over Pakistan in the year 1971, a function was organized on Friday at Chheoki location of Prayagraj. The Victory Flame was received by Brig AK Chaturvedi, Commandant and Managing Director of 508 Army Base Workshop.
A series of events were organized, including victory run by school kids, followed by variety entertainment programme by the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Chheoki.
The event was concluded by felicitating the Veterans of 1971 war staying in and around Naini location by remembering the supreme sacrifices made for the victory of the great nation.
The Indian Army is observing year 2021 as ‘Swarnim Vijay Varsh’ to commemorate the 50th anniversary of victory over Pakistan in the year 1971. The grand celebration was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi by lighting up the ‘Swarnim Vijay Mashal’ at the National War memorial on December 16, 2021, the release added.
