BS Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science & Technology recently announced the launch of the RICS–Crescent Centre of Excellence for Built Environment (CoEBE) together with the Executive Leadership Programme (ELP) in Construction Project Management, marking a major step in reshaping how India nurtures talent and innovation in the built environment. The event gathered senior government officials, business leaders, academics, and members of the press to celebrate Crescent’s growing role in advancing skills, research, and entrepreneurship for a sustainable future.
At the heart of announcement is the new Centre of Excellence for Built Environment (CoEBE), established in collaboration with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Conceived as a bridge between academia, industry, and policy, CoEBE will drive innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation across construction, real estate, and infrastructure. It will provide research and advisory services, publish sector insights, host policy dialogues, and support start-ups in areas such as prop-tech, con-tech, and smart urban solutions. Drawing strength from Crescent’s Schools of Architecture, Infrastructure, and Business, and powered by the Crescent Innovation & Incubation Council (CIIC), CoEBE positions Chennai as a hub for shaping resilient and future-ready cities.
