The five-day annual BSF sports meet, 44th BSF Inter-Frontier Wrestling Cluster 2024, began at BSF Campus here on Tuesday in which about 700 personnel would participate in sports such Wrestling, Boxing, Weightlifting, Power Lifting and Arm Wrestling
The Inter-Frontier Sports Competition of the Border Security Force is aimed at preparing the jawans for national and international-level championships.
“This sporting event features best talents of more than 700 players representing 11 Frontiers of BSF from both Eastern as well as Western Commands competing and vying for top honors. It will be held for five days from 23rd to 27th July 2024,” the statement said.
Inaugurating the event, Rajesh Sharma, DIG (PSO), BSF Gujarat Frontier, emphasized the importance of sports in fostering a spirit of unity, discipline, and national pride and said, “The BSF is promoting sports activities within the organisation in a big way. We are organizing such an exceptional event, providing a platform for athletes to showcase their talents and uphold the values of sportsmanship. I appreciate the dedication and hard work put in by all the participants and officials ensuring the successful organization of this prestigious event.”
During the opening ceremony, the participating athletes, donned in their vibrant Frontier jerseys, marched synchronously with pride on martial tunes played by BSF band, reflecting the diversity and unity of the BSF. A thrilling tug of war competition was also showcased by the BSF team.
The camaraderie and sportsmanship on display are bound to leave a lasting impression on everyone. The 44th BSF Inter-Frontier Wrestling Cluster is not only a celebration of athletic excellence but also a testament to the BSF’s commitment for promoting sports and nurturing young talent.
