Every year around Republic Day, a special alert is sounded along the border for about 10 days. However, due to the Ram Mandir consecration on January 22, this year, it has been issued for 15 days.

The intelligence report further stated that before January 26, Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists may infiltrate via Gujarat. Owing to this, the BSF has increased patrolling of All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs).
The border guarding force is on high alert to deal with any type of terrorist attack in view of the upcoming Republic Day celebrations, said the release.
