With Gujarat’s cities expanding rapidly and young minds increasingly shaping the future of urban India, the 20th GIHED Property Olympiad emerged as a powerful convergence of policy, industry leadership and youth engagement. Organised by CREDAI Ahmedabad–GIHED at the GMDC Ground, Ahmedabad, the three-day property expo placed special emphasis on the role of youth-driven ideas, innovation and inclusive planning in building sustainable urban ecosystems.

The Olympiad brought together developers, investors, policymakers, urban planners and young professionals, positioning real estate not merely as an industry, but as a catalyst for long-term urban transformation. Ganesh Housing Ltd played a key role as a partner, contributing to discussions on policy-led infrastructure growth and responsible city development.

Policy Meets People: Government and Industry in Dialogue

Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi attended the Olympiad as the chief guest, underlining the state government’s focus on infrastructure development, governance reforms, public safety and youth empowerment, while acknowledging the vital contribution of the organised real estate sector in shaping modern urban environments.

One of the highlight sessions featured a panel discussion with Shekhar Patel, Managing Director and CEO, Ganesh Housing Ltd, alongside Deputy Chief Minister. The discussion centred on ease of doing business, long-term infrastructure planning and the role of organised real estate in supporting Gujarat’s urbanisation journey.

Addressing the audience, Shekhar Patel said, “The organised real estate sector has a critical role to play in supporting Gujarat’s urban growth. Strong policy frameworks, long-term planning and close collaboration between government and industry are essential to building cities that are resilient, sustainable and aligned with public interest.”

Youth Olympiad in Action: Ideas, Innovation and Urban Leadership

A defining feature of this year’s Olympiad was YouthCon 2026, a dedicated platform designed to amplify youth voices in conversations on urban development, infrastructure and sustainability. The session encouraged young professionals, entrepreneurs and emerging leaders to actively engage with policymakers and industry veterans.

Speaking at YouthCon 2026, Anmol Patel said, “Youth today are not just entering the workforce; they are shaping how cities will grow, function and sustain themselves. As Ahmedabad prepares to host major national and global sporting events, long-term infrastructure planning and smart urban development will be critical. This presents an opportunity for young professionals to bring fresh ideas, adopt an entrepreneurial mindset and blend traditional industry expertise with digital tools and modern business models to build future-ready urban ecosystems.”

Cities of the Future: Built by Collaboration and Youth Energy

The 20th GIHED Property Olympiad reinforced the importance of cross-generational dialogue, where experience meets innovation and policy meets aspiration. By placing youth engagement at the heart of the conversation, the Olympiad underlined the growing role of young professionals in shaping resilient, inclusive and future-ready cities.

As Gujarat continues to position itself as a leader in urban development and infrastructure growth, platforms like the GIHED Property Olympiad and YouthCon 2026 stand out as blueprints for collaborative nation-building, ensuring that the cities of tomorrow are shaped not just for the youth—but by the youth.
