In commemoration to the Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan of Government of India, a handing over ceremony of Bullet Resistant Jackets to Tamil Nadu Police was held at the Ordnance Clothing Factory, Avadi on Tuesday.
The first consignment of Bullet Resistant Jackets produced under the Make-In-India Programme were handed over to the Tamil Nadu Police against their order by OCF Avadi.
The function was presided over by Hari Mohan, IOFS, Ayudh Ratna, DGOF & Chairman, O. F Board along with C S Viswakarma, Addl. DGOF/AV, A K Jain, Member/Marketing & Export, OFB, Rajnish Lodwal, IOFS, NDC, Sr. DDG/OEF HQrs, and other Senior Officers of O F Board through Video Conferencing.
From OCF Avadi, Surjit Das, IOFS, GM in the presence of Senior Officers handed over the first consignment to Seema Agrawal, Addl. DGP/HQrs., who was accompanied by Sonal V Misra, IPS, IGP/CRPF, P K Senthilkumari, DIGP/HQrs., and V. Shyamala Devi, AIGP/HQrs., of Tamil Nadu Police.
The Bullet Resistant Jackets supplied to Tamil Nadu Police by OCF Avadi has been completely designed and fabricated at OCF, Avadi. The Jacket has special features like High Density Water Repellent, Flame Retardant and protection from bullets fired from Hand Guns, Pistols, 5.5 INSAS Rifles, AK-47 Rifles and 7.62 SLRs.
OCF Avadi has fully established the capacity to design and produce different variants of Bullet Resistant Jackets through its robust R&D set up meeting International Standards, says a release from Defence PRO.
