Former Minister and senior leader of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) C. Ponnaiyan has been appointed as Vice Chairman of the State Planning Commission.
An order to this effect was issued here Monday. The order said that the state planning commission functions under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister. In order to advise the state government suitably in priority areas, it is considered necessary to appoint the Vice Chairman to the State Planning Commission.
Details of the terms and conditions for the appointment of the Vice Chairman of the State Planning Commission will be issued separately, the order further said.
