Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr L Murugan appeals the international film fraternity to produce their movies in India.

Addressing at the round table conference at the India Pavilion of the Cannes Film Festival on Monday, Dr Murugan said India produces highest number of quality films, in more than 20 languages every year.

He also highlighted the importance of India as a market of billion plus movie watchers. Dr Murugan explained in detail about the measures taken to revive the film industry through various initiatives soon after the BJP government led by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the mantle at the centre in 2014.
The minister mentioned how PM Modi govt is promoting start ups. Even the talented Startups in the field of film making have come to Cannes for pitching their produce.
The Indian government is offering various incentives for co-production of movies involving foreign filmmakers, and also highlighted the incentives being given for shooting of foreign films in India.
India, the content hub of the world
He mentioned how India is becoming a content hub of the world, because of its great tradition of story-telling, great legacy of epics like Ramayana, Mahabharata etc.
Language no barrier to hit the world
The regional films made in various languages in India are hitting the world stage, because of their strong content, hence, language is no barrier for films. Films with good content will attract international audience, the minister added.
Single window clearance through FFO
The minister mentioned on how the Film Facilitation Office of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is facilitating to get various permissions from the government agencies under one umbrella.
Dr Murugan also invited the participants of the round table to take part in various film festivals in India such as MIFF2022, IFFI 2022.
