Even as the nation-wide lockdown restrictions have eased, many consumers are preferring cooking at home and in-home consumption. At the same time, there is also a growing demand for consuming exciting, restaurant-style dishes.
To help people have easy access to countless, delicious recipes, Capital Foods, the parent company of Ching’s Secret and Smith & Jones, recently released a recipe e-book, “Global Khana Desi Tadka.” In line with the company’s motto of bringing excitement to every meal, every day, the e-book has been curated to include over 50 quick, delicious, and innovative dishes that can be made at home.
Written in both Hindi and English, the e-book offers an interactive experience with clickable links to instructional videos that demonstrate how the dishes are made. The e-book can be downloaded on mobile phones by sending a “hi” on this WhatsApp number: 9324010000.
The company has collaborated with several chefs in the past to create and publish recipe videos on the Ching’s Secret YouTube channel, which have garnered over 10 million views with 3.4 lakh subscribers. The recipe e-book includes recipes by some of the country’s top professionals like Harpal Singh Sokhi, Saransh Goila, Ranveer Brar, Vicky Ratnani, and Ajay Chopra.
Talking about the e-book, CEO Navin Tewari shared, “At Capital Foods, we have always believed that good food knows no boundaries and every meal can have an element of excitement in it. Over the years, we have worked with some of the country’s best chefs to carefully curate exciting dishes that can be made by anyone – even someone who just picked up cooking during the lockdown period. As people are rediscovering the joys of cooking at home, we decided to create an e-book of recipes that is accessible to everyone and can be downloaded for free.”
He further added, “People expect variety in their food today. The demand for international cuisines has grown strong and many are even adopting global dishes to suit local tastes. Our products like Schezwan Chutney, Desi Chinese masalas, pasta masala, and ginger-garlic paste offer versatility to home-cooking. Moreover, as they are easy to use, anyone can create a range of global and local dishes.”
The e-book has been sorted into sections such as vegetarian vs non-vegetarian dishes, chef recommended favourites and product-based recipes – like Schezwan Corn Cheese Balls and Schezwan Idli made using Schezwan Chutney.
