With an aim to celebrate the 29th year of the launch of India’s first mini tractor by two farmers, GT Patel and MT Patel, the Indian farmers recently celebrated “The Mini Tractor Day”. A 100% indigenous mini tractor was launched on 27th May, 1998 in Rajkot.

Mini tractors give farmers a lot of flexibility in farming when nearly 60% of India’s population is dependent on agriculture.

Starting with various experiments in the year 1994, India’s first mini tractor was launched in 1998 at Rajkot, Gujarat.

To mark the 29 years of service to the farming community, recently May 27, 2023 was celebrated as “The Mini Tractor Day”. This day was celebrated in a unique way by the farmers at more than 125 places across India.

This mini tractor was developed with the aim of helping small and marginal farmers to develop their farming activities through mechanization, increase their income and solve the day-to-day problems of agriculture. At that time this tractor was like a ray of hope for them. Due to their constant hard work, determination, this mini tractor has proved to be a boon for the farmers today. Today more than 1.25 lakh farmers are using this mini tractor.  In future also this tractor will change the lives of lakhs of farmers. So this important day was celebrated as “The Mini Tractor Day”.

This day was celebrated by Captain Tractors at each of their dealerships with activities like Farmers Convention, Tractor Delivery, Service Camp.

The Indian tractor industry has ended FY23 with some record achievements — production crossed one million units for the first time and domestic sales touched a new peak. Total domestic tractor volumes grew 12 per cent to 945,311 units in FY23 compared with 842,266 units in FY22, according to the data provided by Tractor & Mechanization Association (TMA).
