Canara Bank Officers Association (CBOA) celebrated International Women’s day and Youth Conclave in Tirupur on Sunday. Over 200 members from across the state enthusiastically participated in the celebrations.
V. Manimaran, General Secretary, CBOA and General Secretary, All India Nationalised Officers’ Federation (AINBOF) and A. Eswaramurthy, Deputy General Manager, Canara Bank, Tirupur inaugurated the celebrations by lighting the traditional Kuthuvilakku.
They also paid floral tribute to the founder of Canara Bank Ammembal Subba Rao Pai.
The occasion has been graced by the presence of Dorothy Rajendran, Principal, TEA Public school, Tirupur.
Key note address was given by G V Manimaran, General Secretary, CBOA and A Eswaramurthy, Deputy General Manager, Canara Bank, Tirupur.
Several papers were presented on various subjects in Banking. As part of International Women’s Day celebrations, various cultural activities like debates, skit and other presentations by women officers were held.
G V Manimaran, General Secretary of CBOA and AINBOF told reporters that the issues that were rocking the banking industry were also discussed at the programme.
Demands of CBOA, AINBOF
5 day week; Minimum wages pay as per the Charter of demand; Merger of Nationalised Banks and its Impact; Present status of Yes bank moratorium; Updation of pension and family pension for Bank retirees etc.
Status of various writ petitions filed and accepted by Honourable High Court of Madras with regard to Minimum wages pay as per Code of Wages Act to be implemented were discussed on the sidelines of the women’s day celebrations.
The meeting was organized by CBOA, Tirupur region by its Regional Secretary Manoj Sundar. Women’s day activities were coordinated by CBOA, Regional Chairperson, Meenakshi, says a release.
