C.C. Sheth College of Commerce in Ahmedabad recently commemorated Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, also recognized as National Youth Day, with a series of events designed to inspire students to embrace the values of discipline, self-reliance, and national service. The event was coordinated by Dr. Rishi A. Thakar and Dr. Salman Y. Shaikh.
The celebrations included an Essay Writing Competition themed “The Life and Teachings of Swami Vivekananda: A Guide for Youth Empowerment,” where students actively participated by writing essays that explored Swami Vivekananda’s life, his teachings, and their relevance in empowering today’s youth.
An Online Quiz Competition centered on “The Life, Teachings, and Contributions of Swami Vivekananda” tested participants’ knowledge about his work and societal contributions, offering an informative and challenging experience that highlighted key aspects of his philosophy and role in Indian history.
The Elocution Competition, focusing on “The Role of Youth in Nation Building: A Vision Inspired by Swami Vivekananda,” provided a platform for students to articulate their thoughts on how his teachings can influence the youth’s role in nation-building, encouraging confident and clear public speaking on topics aligned with his vision for a strong and self-reliant India.
Additionally, a Book Exhibition showcased a diverse collection of works by and about Swami Vivekananda, including notable titles such as The Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda, Raja Yoga, and Bhakti Yoga. This exhibition offered visitors an opportunity to delve into his profound thoughts on self-realization, service to humanity, and his vision for India’s spiritual and educational awakening, aiming to inspire students to engage deeply with his philosophy and promote his enduring messages of unity, strength, and self-awareness.
The college’s observance of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti was marked by high student engagement and enthusiasm, serving as a fitting tribute to the esteemed philosopher and spiritual leader.
