Aby Joseph, Senior Director/Scientist-G, Power Electronics Division, CDAC- Trivandrum on Monday inaugurated the one-week High-End Workshop (KARYASHALA). It is supported by the SERB, Govt of India under the accelerate Vigyan scheme entitled “Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Inverter Design and MPPT Implementation” and conducted by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, NIT Puducherry.

The National Institute of Technology Puducherry Director Dr. Makarand Madhao Ghangrekar was also present at the event. Dr. Usha Natesan, Director NITTTR Chennai was the guest of honor.
The coordinator of the workshop Dr. Bijukumar B, explaining about the workshop said that “This workshop outlines the understanding of the operation and design of grid-connected photovoltaic inverters and their potential application areas.”
He also added that, a total of 25 participants, including Ph.D, PG and UG students, belonging to different academic institutes from various places such as Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh have registered for the course. A total of 27 sessions by 11 resource persons from various reputed organizations, including C-DAC Trivandrum, NIT Silchar, Prince Sultan University, Saudi Arabia, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, Jais Amethi, NIT Puducherry, Government College of Engineering Kannur, Kerala, LBS college of engineering, Kerala. will deliver their lectures during different sessions of the workshop.
Dr. S. Sundaravarathan, Registrar, NIT Puducherry, Dr. Koperundevi G, HoD, Department of EEE, and other faculty members, staff and students of the department, attended the inaugural function of the workshop.
