Leading industrial and corporate caterer, Central Foods, run by a group of new-age foodpreneurs, have announced the opening of their first centralized modern kitchen at Ambattur Industrial Estate in Chennai on Sunday.
⇑The unit was inaugurated by Sankar Viswanathan, Vice President, VIT University, Chennai Campus, Kadhambari Viswanathan, Assistant Vice President, VIT University, Chennai Campus and B Ramani, Trustee, VIT Campus, Bhopal and Va Pugazhendhi, former Spokesperson of AIADMK and Former Secretary of Karnataka Unit of AIADMK in the presence of Yagarishi Sri Varaga Guruji.
Having wide experience in corporate/industrial catering, the Central Foods headed jointly by S Sasikumar, a Post-Graduate in Engineering from University of Auckland and V A Anand, who holds a graduate degree from Bharathidasan University said that this unit will produce over 2,500 meals; 5,000 breads and confectionaries and 7,000 kgs of sweets and savouries per day initially.
Speaking on this occasion, Sasikumar, an alumni of VIT Vellore has expressed confidence that the unit will receive good response from the corporate and industries in and around Chennai. The centralized kitchen established in a 15,000 square feet facility will cater to the needs of industries/corporate from SriCity in the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh to the Sriperumbudur industrial belt in Tamil Nadu, he added.
Anand said with the strength of strong and dedicated industrial and corporate catering team and chefs, the operating team will deliver the required quality and quantity as per the needs of corporate or or industries or institutions and hospitals.
The Central Foods obtained the ISO 22000-2018 and HACCP and FSSAI certification to ensure hygienic food to the customers. He also said that the unit has in-house Research and Development and quality control laboratory to ensure the high standards.
The unit will scale up its operations to produce over 5,000 meals per day (Breakfast, lunch and dinner) by October 2021, he added.
