Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy participated in the video conference of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Chief Ministers and State Health Ministers to counter spread of coronavirus in which the Prime Minister assured full cooperation to the state, said State Health Minister Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas here on Friday.
Speaking to media after the video conference, the Health Minister said the State Government sought requirement of new labs requested to ban international flights for a longer period. The Minister said there is no need to panic and precautionary measures will be taken.
“Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy earlier held a video conference with District collectors and nodal officers and directed them to take all the necessary steps to contain the situation in the districts” said the Minister. The state government would extend full cooperation for Janta Curfew on March 22.
“Some channels telecasted false news that a coronavirus infected patient died in Vishakapatnam. Media should confirm with health and medical department before telecasting such news at this hour of crisis” the minister appeals.
There are three positive cases in the state and out of 128 samples tested, 108 cases were negative and the results of 17 samples are awaited.
Jagan appeals people to keep inside home on Sunday
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy extending support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for ‘Janta Curfew’, has asked the state people not to come out of homes from 7 am to 9 pm on Sunday.
The Chief Minister asked everyone in the state to clap hands and ring bells from their balcony for 5 minutes at 5pm on Sunday to express gratitude for those who are delivering medical and emergency services to the people.
Everyone in the state except those who are working in police department, medical services, emergency services, fire services, and those who work to deliver milk and daily groceries should support the Janta Curfew.
Moreover, this curfew helps in maintaining social distance and this is just a beginning to eradicate COVID-19. He emphasized that Andhra Pradesh would be in forefront in every activity that prevents COVID-19.
