Ashok & Rita Patel Institute of Physiotherapy (ARIP) – a constituent of Charotar University of Science & Technology (CHARUSAT), organized a 26-day Physiotherapy Aspirants’ Foundation Programme (PH-PRO) for 12th Science (B Group) students.

The free webinar series commenced on 24th July 2023 and concluded on 18th August 2023. Eighty-one participants from different cities in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Haryana, Diu, and Daman took part and gained valuable insights from the PhPro-2023 program.
Physiotherapy courses train students through theory lessons and hands-on training on treatments and exercises that help restore a patient’s mobility. Physiotherapy is one of the highest-paying paramedical fields in India. A recent WHO report states that every 10,000 people should have access to a physiotherapist. However, India barely has over 5,000 registered physiotherapists. As a result, there is a need for more trained physiotherapists in India, said Dr M Balaganapathy, Principal – ARIP.
Physiotherapists focus on both prevention and rehabilitation. Treatment can be for problems caused by injury, disease or disability, Dr Balaganapathy added.
Esteemed speakers like the International Affairs Chairperson for the Indian Association of Physiotherapists as well as the Principal of NMIMS University Dr Ali Irani, Dr Yagna Shukla, Dr Pravithra Rajan, and many more shared their views on various topics such as Public health, Entrepreneurship, Physiotherapy practice in India, UK, USA, Australia, and Canada, etc., to create awareness about physiotherapy amongst the aspirants.
