Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ASSOCHAM( Southern Region had organised the 3rd Edition of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & Sustainability Conference & Award Ceremony to recognize companies, Institutions and NGOs who have contributed through their Innovative & Sustainable CSR initiatives in multiple sectors in Chennai on Friday.
We are delighted to have the opportunity to present the awards to the companies that have made the best use of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund, organised by @ASSOCHAM4India on its 3rd consecutive year.

Tamil Nadu Minister for School Education Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi and Environment Minister Meyyanathan gave away the awards in the presence of Dr Aravindan Selvaraj, Chairman, ASSOCHAM Tamil Nadu Development Council & Co-Founder & Executive Director, Kauvery Hospital and T R Parasuraman, Council Chairman and Executive Advisor, Toyota Group, Toyota Kirloskar Motors Pvt Ltd.

Giving away the award, Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi said that Namma School Foundation has received a donation of Rs 68.48 crores from corporates and philanthropists for the noble cause for the development of infrastructure facilities in government schools.
Addressing the conference, Environ Minister Meyyanathan dealt in length about various measures being taken by the state government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister MK Stalin for climate change in 14 districts with seashore etc.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a self-regulating business model that helps a company to be socially accountable—to itself, its stakeholders, and the public. By practicing corporate social responsibility, companies can be conscious of the kind of impact they are having on all aspects of society, including economic, social, and environmental.
CSR is a way of conducting business, by which corporate entities visibly contribute to social good of the society as whole. Socially responsible companies use CSR to integrate economic, environmental, and social objectives with the company’s operations and growth. Sustainability is awareness that each entity is surrounded by various stakeholders and Building and cultivating good relations with stakeholders based on engagement and dialogue is crucial, because it not only affects the possibilities to manage risks, but also supports development and gives the organization a competitive edge.
A dedicated platform for the public and corporates to contribute their funds created by the Tamil Nadu government – Namma School Foundation and STEM have put up their stalls at the conference.
