CHENNAI, NOV 3
The Department of Posts on Tuesday announced it is providing Biometric based Jeevan Pramaan (Digital Life Certificate) generation services for pensioners through India Post Payments Bank, a specialised division of Indian Post, says Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Chennai City North Division, Chennai 600 008.
The assisted DLC services can be availed by pensioners of Central, State and Emloyees’ Provident Fund Organization based on Aadhaar enabled biometric authentication. The service would increase convenience for the pensioners and also reduce the turnaround time of issuance of Jeevan Pramaan Certificate.
This service has been enabled across the network of post offices through India Post Payments Bank (IPPB), a specialised division of Indian Post, at the doorstep of the pensioners through the Postmen/ Gramin Dak Sevaks at a nominal fee. This doorstep service will help more susceptible elderly citizens to avoid travelling and visit banks/ offices to submit DLCs in the current COVID pandemic.
The DLC service is available in all Delivery Post Offices under Chennai City North Division. A customer can contact nearest post officer or place a request for a doorstep visit by the Postman/ Gramin Dak Sevak. Department of Posts have also enabled scheduling of doorstep request through the post info app or through the website http://ccc.cept.gov.in/covid/request.aspx
Issuance of DLC is a completely paperless, seamless and hassle free process and the certificate is generated instantly. On successful completion, a Pramaan ID is generated that is shared with pensioner by NIC directly.
Once the Pramaan ID is generated, pensioners may download the DLC through the link http://jeevanpramaan.gov.in/ppouser/login, according to a press release issued by it.
