Nearly one lakh railway employees and union activists from the Indian Railway assembled in Chennai from December 4 to 6 and raised voice against the Central Government’s ‘anti-labor’ policy.
These activists took part in the 95th annual convention of the All India Railwaymen’s Federation. Rakhal Das Gupta, president of AIRF, said that about 1 lakh AIRF members took part in this convention. “Discussion and resolution about several burning topics like government’s conspiracy to privatize the Indian Railway, present economic crisis and scrapping of the National Pension Scheme were taken up in the convention. Several important resolutions were passed in this convention,” Das Gupta said.
