Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Saturday inaugurated the Gujarat NCC Directorate’s ‘NCC Vriksha Ropan Abhiyan’ as part of Phase 6 of #EkMaiSauKeLiye Campaign at Umargaon, Valsad.

The event was also attended by Brigadier DS Rawat, Group Commander, Vadodara Group and NCC cadets. In the inaugural programme, NCC cadets have planted saplings at each District HQ.

Major General Arvind Kapoor, Additional Director General, NCC Gujarat, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, said, “The NCC Vriksha Ropan Abhiyan will continue till each NCC cadet has planted at least 5 saplings across the 251 Talukas in coordination with the Forest Department of Gujarat in all the 33 districts of Gujarat.”
He further stated that Tree plantation is an important part of Social Service and Community Development responsibility of the NCC cadets. By this action, the cadets will also reiterate their commitments towards safeguarding the environment and contributing towards a cleaner and greener environment for the present and future generations.
