A vibrant and engaging poster-making competition was organised on Monday at the Faculty of Visual Arts, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) as part of the ongoing Kashi Tamil Sangamam–4 in Varanasi. The event served as a creative platform to celebrate and integrate the rich cultural heritage of Kashi and Tamil Nadu.
What began as a spark of creativity on paper soon blossomed into a moment filled with shared spirit and joy.

The competition, themed “Unity in Diversity”, drew enthusiastic participation from over 150 students. Young artists from Kashi Vidyapith, Jeevan Deep Publications, and various departments of BHU showcased impressive talent, using colours and creativity to highlight India’s cultural harmony.
Celebrating the Spirit of Indian Heritage
Students created visually captivating artworks depicting Kashi’s ghats, temple architecture, Ganga Aarti, and the cultural splendour of South India, including Bharatanatyam, folk traditions, costumes, and architectural motifs. Many poster entries vividly reflected the diverse traditions of Kanchipuram and the spiritual ethos of Kashi, reinforcing the message that India’s unity thrives amid cultural diversity.

The event was conducted under the guidance of the Department of Applied Arts, Faculty of Visual Arts, BHU.

High Enthusiasm Among Students
Students expressed immense excitement for the opportunity to present their cultural interpretations through art. Many shared that the platform helped them explore new perspectives on the traditions of Kashi and Tamil Nadu.
In an encouraging announcement, organisers declared that the best poster artworks will be honoured on the main stage of Tamil Sangamam–4, further boosting the participants’ enthusiasm and competitive spirit.
