Commodore Sudip Malik took over as the Naval Officer-in-Charge, Gujarat on Wednesday from Commodore Nitin Bishnoi at Ceremonial Divisions held at Porbandar.
Commissioned in 1996, the officer is an alumnus of the prestigious National Defence Academy, Khadakvasla.

He is a specialist in Gunnery & Radar Technology and a graduate of Naval War Colleges at Valparaiso, Chile and at Goa.
Prior, taking over as NOIC Gujarat he has commanded two front line frigates, IN Ships Beas and Gomati.
The Officer has been commissioning Commanding Officer of INS Cheriyam. His other command assignments include command of INS Nireekshak and appointment as NOIC Kerala.
