A young woman officer in khakhi with a steely will has chosen to challenge the obstacles and came out with flying colours in her mission exhorted the women to come out of their comfort zone and conquer the world.
IPS officer D. Sangeetha, attached to Denkanikottai Police Sub-Division, bordering neighbouring Karnataka was speaking at Adhiyamaan College of Engineering, Hosur on Monday on this year’s Women’s Day theme of ”Choose To Challenge.”
Inaugurating International Women’s Day, she said, “Nowadays women are facing threat from wire due to the advent of the internet. The cybercrime rate against women is mounting at the same speed that of information technology apart from physical attack. Hence, they should be careful while handling social media platform. Pictures of women on social media platforms are being morphed by anti-social elements for their crimes. To tackle this menace, women ought to come out of their comfort zone and conquer the world.”
In his presidential address, Principal Dr. G. Ranganath, Adhiyamaan College of Engineering said, “The management is taking utmost care to ensure the safety of girls inside the college campus. The Women Empowerment Cell has been entrusted to take precautions against harassment against women on the campus.”
In her welcome address, Prof T. Manekadevi, Member of the Women Empowerment Cell explained in detail the safe and secure environment created for the women staff and students on the college campus.
Dr.R.Seetha, committee member of the Women Empowerment Cell proposed the vote of thanks.
Over 300 girl students and woman faculty members took part in the celebrations.
