Congress all set to form the next government in Karnataka. The party leads in over 120 seats out of the total seats of 223 and the ruling BJP is the distant second with leading in 76 seats and the Janata Dal (Secular) is leading in 25 seats.
It’s a big day for Congress, according to the trends coming in so far, is getting a comfortable majority in Karnataka Assembly Elections. So far, the grand old party is leading at 120 constituencies in 223-member strong assembly. The BJP is a distant second with leads at 76 places, while the JDS is ahead in 25 seats.

Confident of a victory, the Congress has already started celebration in Delhi and Bengaluru. As per highly placed party sources, a power-sharing formula has been reached between its state unit chief DK Shivakumar and senior leader Siddaramaiah, with latter becoming the chief minister’s post first.
The counting for results of 224 Assembly seats of Karnataka started at 8 am on Saturday. While early displayed a neck and neck contest between the BJP and Congress, the picture changed within an hour.
The elections were a straight battle between the – BJP and Congress, with Janata Dal Secular will play an important role in forming the next government.

Siddaramaiah on election trend
“We told that even if PM Modi comes nothing will work and see that has happened. We are leading in 120 seats. As we expected we will get the majority,” Congress leader Siddaramaiah said.
