Captain Tom Moore, who won British hearts with a Covid-19 fundraising drive during 2020, died from the disease aged 100 on Tuesday, said his family.
The family members posted a picture of the charity hero with the words ‘Captain Sir Tom Moore 1920-2021’ on his official Twitter page.

Shocking to hear the sad news, England Men’s Test Team captain Joe Root along with his team members paid to the inspirational war veteran and Covid-19 fundraising hero Captain Sir Tom Moore from M A Chidambaram Cricket Stadium in Chennai before beginning their practice on Wedenesday.
The English Cricket team is on an India tour. The first test begins at MAC Stadium on Friday.
