Gujarat’s count of coronavirus cases rose to 1,53,923 with an addition of 1,158 cases on Tuesday, the state health department said.
The death of ten COVID-19 patients pushed the death toll to 3,587, the department said.
But daily recoveries continued to outnumber new cases. With 1,375 patients getting discharged on Tuesday, the number of recovered cases in the state rose to 1,35,127.

With this, the state”s recovery rate improved to 87.79 percent, the department said.
50,993 tests were conducted in the state for coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
Surat continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases among Gujarat districts with 248 cases on Tuesday.
Ahmedabad reported 177 new cases.

Three other districts reported 100 or more new cases: Vadodara 124, Rajkot 109, and Jamnagar 100.
Among other districts, Mehsana reported 41 new cases, Gandhinagar 36, Junagadh 34, Panchmahal 27, Bharuch 26, Morbi, and Sabarkantha 22 each, Amreli and Surendranagar 19 each, Banaskantha and Patan 17, Anand 16, Kutch 15, Gir Somnath 13, Bhavnagar 12.
Three deaths each were reported during the day in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, and Surat, and one in Mahisagar.
With this, the state’s active cases stand at 15,209, of which 82 patients are on ventilators, the department said.
Gujarat’s COVID-19 figures are as follows: Positive cases 1,53,923, new cases 1,158, death toll 3,587, discharged 1,35,127, active cases 15,209, and people tested so far 51,14,677.

177 new cases in Ahmedabad, 200 recover, 3 deaths
Ahmedabad reported 177 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, raising its caseload to 39,286, the Gujarat health department said.

With three more COVID-19 fatalities, the death toll in the district rose to 1,871, it said.
With 200 more patients getting discharged on Tuesday, the total number of patients recovered so far in the district rose to 33,932, the department said in its release.
The number of recovered cases in both Ahmedabad city and rural parts of the district exceeded new cases on Tuesday.

The city reported 176 recoveries and 163 new cases, while the rural parts reported 24 recoveries and 14 new cases.
All three deaths were from the city.
According to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, the city’s west zone continued to report the highest number of active cases at 570.
The city’s north-west zone stood second with 529 active cases, followed by the south zone with 490 cases.
1,113, or over 58 percent of 1,911 COVID-19 beds available across 66 private hospitals in the city are occupied.
The Ahmedabad Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association said till Monday evening, 103 beds in ICUs with ventilators were occupied, and 53 were available. 189 beds in ICUs without ventilators are occupied and 113 available.

As many as 451 beds are occupied in the isolation wards of these hospitals and 341 occupied, it said.
Rural parts of Ahmedabad have so far reported 2,691 COVID-19 patients, out of which 2,582 have been discharged at the recovery rate of 96 percent, officials said.
