Gujarat reported 741 fresh coronavirus cases on Saturday, taking its count of infections to 2,46,513, the state health department said.
The COVID-19 death toll in the state reached 4,314 with five more patients dying, including three in Ahmedabad.
Recoveries outnumbered new cases as 922 patients were discharged.
As the total number of patients discharged from hospitals reached 2,31,722, the recovery rate further improved to 94.41 per cent, the health department said.
With 52,980 new coronavirus tests conducted during the day, the total number of samples tested so far in Gujarat has gone up to 97,59,280.
At 152, Ahmedabad reported the highest number of new cases in the state in the day, followed by 142 in Surat, 131 in Vadodara, and 75 in Rajkot.
Elsewhere, Kutch reported 26 new cases, Panchmahal 19, Dahod and Gandhinagar 18 each, Anand 15, Kheda, Junagadh and Mehsana 14 each, Jamnagar 13, and Bharuch 10, etc.
Of the total five fatalities, one person died each in Surat and Vadodara, the department said.
Gujarat is now left with 9,466 active cases, it said.

In the Union Territory of Daman, Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, one new case coronavirus positive case was reported in Diu, taking the tally to 3,350.
The total number of recoveries stood at 3,334, officials said.
The UT has 14 active cases while the death toll so far is two.
The number of coronavirus tests conducted in the UT during the day and the overall tally of tests is not available.
Ahmedabad records 152 new cases; three deaths
At least 152 persons tested positive for coronavirus, while three died of the infection in Ahmedabad district on Saturday, an official from the state health department said.
With the addition of new infections, the district”s COVID-19 tally has risen to 57,944, the official said.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 52,779, he said.
Ahmedabad city reported 147 new cases and 150 recoveries, while the rural parts of the district reported five new cases and six recoveries, the department stated in its release.
The deaths of three patients during the day have taken the toll in the district to 2,254, it was stated.
According to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, the western part of the city continued to be worst affected, as the northwest zone has 398 active cases, followed by the west zone with 381 and the southwest zone with 370 cases.
Currently, there are 2,415 active cases in the city, which has reported 2,197 deaths so far, the civic body stated.
Meanwhile, with a decline in active cases in the city, the bed occupancy rate at private hospitals has dropped to 14.15 percent.
As per the latest update by the Ahmedabad Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association, there are 202 beds vacant at COVID-19 designated private hospitals and 46 are occupied.
Surat sees 142 cases, 1 death; 144 recover
Surat reported 142 COVID-19 cases and one death on Saturday, taking the district”s tally to 49,507 and toll to 1,138, an official said.
Of the new cases, Surat city accounted for 105, while it also saw 118 of the 144 recoveries, the rest coming from the rural areas of the district, he added.
“So far, 35,526 people have been discharged, which is a recovery rate of 95.66 percent. As of now, 8,279 people are quarantined and 206 hospitalised, including 64 in civil hospital and SMIMER. These two hospitals have bed occupancy rates of 1.7 percent and 3 percent, respectively,” a Surat Municipal Corporation official said.
In SMC limits, Athwa locality leads with 7,151 cases, followed by 6,019 in Katargam, he added.
In the rural parts, Kamrej has reported 2,559 COVID-19 cases so far, the highest among nine talukas, followed by 2,424 in Choryasi, the official said.
