ANAND, APRIL 6
Covid-19 is a crisis unlike any the world has experienced in several generations — and one of uncertain duration. The process of slowing the spread of the coronavirus will itself disrupt many aspects of life. The crisis also brings opportunities to strengthen current relationships and build new ones, and businesses have an important role to play in this regard. Anxious employees in the hospitality sector need reassurance and support as their needs change radically.
Companies that strategically invest in employees, possibly leap-frogging to anticipate future behaviours, could emerge in a stronger position.
Stating that for any organization, their employees are very important and they are their real assets, Gujarat’s hospitality major Madhubhan Resort & Spa has taken ‘people first’ approach during this 21-day lockdown period following the spread of coronavirus.
Madhubhan Resort & Spa has taken some unique and exemplary initiatives. The resort has taken the responsibility to take care of its employees staying away from their homes who are in the approachable vicinity, do not suffer in these difficult times. Structured arrangements have been made for their well-being, including foods and financial support.
To make this lockdown meaningful, Hydrogen peroxide and Virex 252 are regularly sprayed in all the public and back-of-the-house areas, including resort’s and employees’ vehicles, golf carts, and e-rickshaws. Although personal hygiene and sanitation are an integral part of all resort operations, there was a special session conducted to train all workers on personal hygiene and sanitation, considering the risks of the pandemic. All the surfaces, knobs and handles those come constantly in human touch are regularly cleaned and sanitised as part of daily routine. Now, in wake of this pandemic, the cycle of this exercise is intensified.
While talking about this, Manohar S Gurung, Vice-President of Madhubhan Resort & Spa said, “For any organization, their employees are very important and they are their assets and Madhubhan ideology believes in ‘people first’ approach. During this lockdown situation, we are taking care of our employees so they don’t face any problem and remain safe. We are also committed to offering emotional assistance and solidarity to our employees and their families who are here staying far away from their hometown.”
“We are adhering strictly to all the guidelines provided by the Government of India and the Government of Gujarat and constantly providing all appropriate arrangements for the guests stranded at the resort due to this lockdown,” he further added. Additionally, we have partnered up with Sri Sai Baba Janseva Trust – Anand, Jai Jalaram Annapurna Manav Sewa Samiti – Mogri and Railway Police Force – Anand Railway Station and other local NGOs to provide food to the poor and needy citizens living around the resort and also in Anand. We have till now fed more than about 1,000 such people and will continue to do so in the coming days till the situation normalises.
