A case was filed against him under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act after his speech at an indoor meeting of the party allegedly against judges and Dalits. Police had registered a cased on the basis of a complaint lodged by the Aadhi Tamizhar Makkal Katchi leader Kalyanasundaram.
However, speaking to reporters late, Bharathi said his speech was twisted in the social media and his arrest is to “satisfy someone”.
