The annual festival of the Bannariamman Temple Kundam festival, scheduled to be held from March 23 to April 13, has been postponed due to coronavirus scare, Erode district Collector Kathiravan said.
Due to the COVID-19 panic, the Tamilnadu government on Wednesday instructed the district administration to prevent large number of people from gathering as part of an awareness on the coronavirus outbreak.
The temple festival is a popular festival in the southern part of the country as devotees from Tamilnadu, and neighbouring Kerala, Karnataka, and parts of Andhra Pradesh attend the event.
