Gujarat reported 860 new coronavirus positive cases on Sunday, which pushed its overall infection tally to 1,73,804, the state health department said.
Recoveries outnumbered the new cases as 1,128 patients were discharged. This took the number of recovered cases in the state to 1,57,247, it said.
The state’s recovery rate is now 90.47 percent.

With five deaths, the state’s COVID-19 fatality count rose to 3,724, the department said in a release.
Surat reported the highest number of 220 new cases, followed by Ahmedabad with 177 cases and Vadodara with 117.
Among other districts, Rajkot reported 82 new cases, Gandhinagar 31, Mehsana 26, Sabarkantha and Junagadh 22, Jamnagar 21, Kheda 14, Bharuch 12, Surendranagar 11, Gir Somnath and Morbi 10 and Bhavnagar nine.
Ahmedabad reported two out of the total five deaths on Sunday, while Patan, Surat and Vadodara reported one death each.

The number of active cases in the state now stands at 12,833, out of which 56 patients are on the ventilator, it said.
As many as 51,084 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. This took the number of samples tested so far to 61,04,931.
In the Union Territory of Daman, Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, the coronavirus positive tally rose to 3,230 after four new cases were reported on Sunday – two each in Daman and DNH, officials said.
With eight patients getting discharged, the number of recovered cases rose to 3,194, they said.

Surat sees 220 cases, one death, while 235 recover
Surat’s COVID-19 tally rose to 36,141 with the addition of 220 cases on Sunday, the highest in the state, while one person died and 235 recovered during the day, an official said.
The number of people who have died of the infection stands at 1,017.
“Of the 220 new cases, Surat city accounted for 167. It also saw 168 people getting discharged. So far 25,146 people have been discharged in the city, giving it a recovery rate of 93.3 per cent,” a Surat Municipal Corporation official said.
“Currently, 15,676 persons are quarantined in the city, while the number hospitalised is 354, including 144 in two government hospitals, against a bed capacity of 3,046. The civil hospital has a bed occupancy rate of 3.73 per cent while that of SMIMER is 7.43 per cent,” he said.
177 new cases in Ahmedabad, 2 deaths, 219 recover
The number of COVID-19 cases in Ahmedabad reached 42,691 on Sunday after 177 people were detected with the infection, while two people died and 219 were discharged during the day, an official said.
The number of deaths due to the infection is 1,919 and the recovery count is 37,527, he added.
“The city saw 201 people getting discharged as well as 164 new cases, while it was 18 and 13 respectively in the district”s rural areas. The number of containment zones in AMC limits is 88,” he said.
As per the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, the city”s north west zone has the highest number of active cases at 460, followed by 445 in west zone, while central zone has the lowest at 312.
The COVID-19 tally in rural Ahmedabad rose to 2,978 with the addition of 13 cases.
“The recovery rate in rural Ahmedabad is 97 percent with 2,873 people getting discharged,” he added.
