COVID-19 cases under control in Gujarat

Gujarat recorded 17 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the tally of cases in the state to 8,25,118, a release by the Health Department said on Thursday evening.

With the death of one patient in Rajkot during the day, the coronavirus death toll in the state reached 10,078, it said.

With 28 patients getting discharged from hospitals in 24 hours, the tally of recovered persons went up to 8,14,858 while the recovery rate stood at 98.76 percent, the release said.

Gujarat now has only 182 active cases, of which only four patients are on ventilator, as per the release.

As many as 3.85 crore doses of coronavirus vaccines have been administered in the state till now, including 6.33 lakh doses given on Thursday.

One new case was reported in the adjoining Union Territory of Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu in the last 24 hours, said a release by the UT authorities. Out of total 10,627 persons found positive for coronavirus in the Union Territory since the outbreak, four died, 10,618 recovered while five cases are still active, said the release.

Gujarat’s COVID-19 figures are as follows: Positive cases 8,25,118, New cases 17, Death toll 10,078, Discharged 8,14,858, Active cases 182, People tested so far – figures not released.
